Biography
Kevin P. Markey has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1988 and is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts. He is an active member of the Florida Bar’s Business Law; Real Property, Probate & Trust Law; and Administrative Law sections.
After practicing with two of Brevard County’s largest firms, Mr. Markey founded Markey & Fowler, P.A. in 1994, where he served as managing partner of a five-attorney firm focused on corporate, franchise, real estate, estate planning, civil litigation, and governmental law. He currently practices in Cocoa, Florida.
Mr. Markey serves as general counsel to Eastern Florida State College and has represented numerous municipalities, including Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, and Melbourne. He has over 30 years of experience as a title agent and has served as lead real estate counsel for local financial institutions. He is also a director of Community Bank of the South.
His practice includes advising businesses, professionals, and nonprofit organizations in the areas of wills, trusts and probate, business and real property law, and government affairs. He has taught as an adjunct professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of Central Florida and formerly served as a certified SBA business analyst and NFL contract advisor.
Mr. Markey earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida and a J.D., with honors, from Florida State University. While in law school, he published in the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law, completed a fellowship at the Policy Studies Clinic, and studied at the University of Oxford. A Brevard County resident for over 50 years, he was elected to the Port Canaveral Board of Commissioners in 2020, where he has served as Vice Chair and Chairman.
